Training and staff development
We are a small and personal collective of experts by profession and experience working in the wider fields of Mental Health, social care and young people’s services. We offer one-day training programmes as well as 5 day induction training and practise development workshops based upon our expertise. (See our Training programs here) All our training can be flexible and directed at specific target audiences, it offers primarily practical alternatives and aims to build workers confidence. We have been established for over 5 years, have held a number of large contracts and always complete our work to a high standard.
Dr Mike Smith RMN, B.Sc. MA. Ph.D. is our lead trainer; he is a mental health professional with 24 years international experience. He has developed many alternative approaches to understanding and helping mental distress, has authored many books and publications on these subjects and is a former Nurse of the year for his work & research in developing new practical approaches to self harm, voice hearing and Psychic distress.
Marion Aslan is a professional trainer and expert by experience. Her areas of expertise are women’s’ mental health, personality disorder, risk assessment and consumer run services
Olga Runciman B.Sc. psychology, psychiatric nurse and expert by experience. She works at Slotsvænget in Denmark as a recovery coach
Wendy Ifill is an expert by experience who trains in living with self-harm and the personal experience of restraint
