Olga, B.Sc. psychology (UK) and a qualified psychiatric nurse (DK), has many years experience working in the Danish mental health system and is today also teaching and training both in Denmark and the UK.
She sees her profession and her life experience as giving her a possibility to create a bridge between the two worlds of “sane”/”crazy” and to deconstruct the significance and the restrictions that are apportioned these two labels.
Her passion is to overturn the compartmentalization that is given to a person who has received a psychiatric diagnosis. She strongly believes that each individual has a choice as to whether they merely exist or embrace life.
She employs alternative approaches to the field of psychiatry and seeks to inspire both service users and workers in reinterpreting mental health issues in a creative and innovative way.
As Albert Einstein once said “Insanity (is…) doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Or to quote R. D. Laing “Insanity (is…) a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world.”
