Courses include
“Recovery through lived and shared experience” 10 sessions exploring a range of mental health issues such as self harm, voices, sexual abuse and depression
- “Recovery / Person Centred Planning” 10 sessions exploring current policy and practical applications of working in person centred ways
Benefits to Service Users/Carers - The courses provide participants with core knowledge of mental health concerns from a recovery perspective, enabling them to build upon their own experiences, enhancing confidence and presenting them with a range of ideas, tools and coping strategies to aid the recovery journey.
Benefits for Workers - For workers, it is envisaged they will act as “culture carriers” and perhaps most importantly be the holders of hope, by spreading recovery knowledge, expectations and information to their colleagues and clients. Previous attendees have stated the positive benefits of joint training where “a safe climate” enables issues to be explored to the full from all perspectives, is extremely motivating and provides practical skills to augment practice.
