Recovery & Thriving Approaches
Lived and Shared Experience GroupsWe have been setting up and developing groups since the early 90's. Experience has taught us that "Service User", "User Empowerment" and "Hearing Voices" groups are too dated or narrow a concept and exclude many individuals. Our view is that Recovery and Thriving are best achieved through meaningful dialogue and interaction between both those with a lived experience of mental distress and all supporters with a shared vision of recovery. Hence the name.Solid foundations are essential to the survival of such groups, and we provide training, consultancy, mentorship, information and advice on how to develop strong, innovative groups based on respect and the principles and values of true recovery. e offer support and encouragement to wellness organisations who are looking to expand and develop their services. We have extensive knowledge and experience of setting up charities, CHANGE and Changing Futures in Birmingham, and Krysalis in Coventry to name but a few) With our team of associates we are able to assist with the practicalities of development, legal requirements, policies, constitutions and financial advice with a view to such groups becoming independent and their profiles raised. Our aim is to assist, support and enable groups to become fully autonomous.
